Learning by Online Tutoring

How was your college or school life?  Did you just breeze through it or were there times that you needed help with assignments, homework or projects?

Although most people say that their college life was the best time of their life, it would have been unavoidable that there were some bumps along the road, especially with regard to academics. Whether you are a student or a parent of a student, there comes a time when you feel that you need instant help from someone else who is knowledgeable in a particular subject matter. Enrolling in learning centers  can be beneficial for long-term guidance, but when it comes to spur-of-the-moment help for homework and projects that are due the next day, or for quick questions regarding upcoming exams, consultation with private tutors may be the best solution.

With the technology today, online tutoring has been available to people that need help. What is great about it is that most tutors go through rigorous testing and have credentials to prove their knowledge. Most are working tutors and university undergraduates or postgraduates. Rates vary for different sites as well as for the private tutors because of their subject expertise and credentials.

Another thing that’s great about online tutoring is flexibility. Scheduling a session depends on your and your tutor’s availability so it’s easier to work around one’s free time. Also, some online tutoring sites offer some kind of forum, where you can just ask questions and get answers right away if other students or tutors are online and are willing to provide the information aside from your private sessions with an individual tutor. The forums are a great way to interact with other students and tutors because you will be sure that the topic discussed is common to all.

Have you tried the traditional tutoring method? What are your thoughts about private online tutors? Do you think that online tutoring is another avenue to learn more and increase your knowledge at a faster pace?

it is indeed true that technology is really a helper nowadays since in just a click, everything, or almost of what you need can be found easily without scanning a page of a books where we usually found in the library..

i haven’t tried the private tutor but i do use google for some researches for my homework… but the information given in the internet should still be reviewed because not all that are stated here is valid and stated as true… you still need a better references or some related references to be compared with..

Honestly, i do prefer the traditional private tutor because i learn more if i see the person. i don’t know. or i’m more of the independent thing because i learn it from my own. i usually have tutors if it regards numbers like math..haha i’m not that good at it… but if you want to be an instant resources use internets.. but keep in mind that you should be more intelligent to some resources and make sure that it will be validate to facts..

lastly, i think it will be a little costly if you search for private tutors or something? i dont know.. just an opinion.hehe ^_^

I’m a private tutor myself and I still prefer the old fashioned way of tutoring a student. You are able to explain more clearly the point you want to convey to your student.
