Yes, I know it’s supposed to be “Spring Cleaning”. But since we don’t have Spring around here, and because it seems I find it exciting and motivating to do some general cleaning when the holidays are coming up, I’m now renaming it Christmas Cleaning.
Ever since our helper left, a lot of clutter are still scattered everywhere. I’ve tried time and time again to quickly pack most of them up so we can change our old sofa and buy our dream leather sofa but it seems I just have no place to store them at anymore. It’s either we have too much stuff or the house is too small for us already.
Most of the things that have been buried have been there for months and so I thought that if I never really looked for them, then it must mean I don’t need them, right? This is what prompted me to ask my husband if I could start throwing things away, or possible donate or give them to others. I don’t think packing them up will do me good at this point because I will just be “organizing” the clutter, but they will still remain as clutter inside our home.
Once we get rid of a lot of things, we also plan to buy a new sofa. This one we have is still usable don’t take me wrong. Those that use it even say that it’s one of the most comfortable sofas they’ve sat on. We’ve had this sofa ever since we moved so that’s about… 6 years. It has survived that long and a Labrador dog, and you know how dogs, especially Labs, are. They try to chew on anything they can get their paws on. Luckily, we still had our helper then so our sofa only has very minimal damage.
Now that dear Autumn is being taken care of by my brother, we’re thinking of getting a leather sofa. Since space is limited, we were thinking of getting something similar to the image below because we can definitely maximize the space with it. One side of the sofa would be against the wall while the other side will fit perfectly against the small wall/post supporting the stairs. With a toddler though, I think I may opt for a black one to be safe.
I just hope I get all my cleaning done in time. My target is before Thanksgiving so that we can have the new sofa before we do our Christmas decorations. For the first time, I’m really excited to clean up so… wish me luck!

it really is quite a chore to clean up especially when you have a toddler you’ve got to look after 24/7, but I know where you are coming from…I hope you finish your clearing up before Thanksgiving approaches! Good luck
yeah we must watch toddler, my friend’s send her daughter to nursery they no see her and she broke her hand as she jump from chair.

Lovely pic sis, we have a similar leather sofa at home – in white too! Piece of advice, get it another color – with kids at home, the white is now dirty white! lol. I’m almost finished removing small clothes around but come Friday, I’m sure I’d be unpacking and adding up more clothes….haaays galingan nating magligpit.

Black may be a good idea. I have a really nice white chair that has been colored with orange marker! I can’t believe we thought we could keep a white chair from getting ruined.

My Mom is a diva when it comes to cleaning… (aren’t all mothers are?) I really feel that she will pressure me one of these days to clean our room…LOL. Oh my, oh my… got to do it!

sis can try put up on second hand blogshop to sell them off, hehe… I had a swap blog myself but long time no swap.

the sofa you’ve featured is what I’m dreaming too:) but i just put it aside for the meantime coz we don’t have much space at home. I love how the dining area is designed-elevated! With a home decor like that, inner peace can be achieved:)
