I still can’t believe Jessica Sanchez got the lowest number of votes! Okay, let me rant here please. (Don’t forget to watch the video at the bottom of the post.)
For years I haven’t followed American Idol as much as this one because right from the start I knew who would possibly win. I always got that feeling that some personalities were just chosen to add character to the show but ultimately there will just be 2 to 4 who can really sing and make it to the end.
This year though is so different. At least 5 of those in the Top 7 I believe can really, really sing! For weeks it has always been Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet who have been performing really well. The judges really love them because they deliver, they sing! Almost, if not all their guest mentors had good words for Jessica and Joshua every time. Their last guest mentor, Akon, even wanted to “steal” Jessica Sanchez from American Idol!
So now I wonder, why were the 2 top singers, Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet, along with Elise Testone on the bottom 3? Was it to urge the judges to use their save card? Personally, since they got this close to the finish line and still haven’t used their save card up , I felt they were really saving their card for Jessica, Joshua or Phillip. Now that two of the best are in the bottom, they swore it was the end of their save card.
Yes, Jessica Sanchez was shocked when she heard she was on the bottom. Really now, who wouldn’t be? She’s so talented and all the right people (judges and mentors) know how good she is, so why did America vote otherwise? Was it a ploy for the ratings? Have their ratings dwindled this far? Was it a racial thing since she’s Asian?
I mean, check out the past 10 winners – Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, David Cook, Kris Allen, Lee DeWyze, and Scotty McCreery – notice there was never once an Asian winner? In all fairness, maybe because there wasn’t any Asian in the past deserving to win the title, but not this time. Jessica Sanchez deserves to make it to at least the Top 2. Come on America, you can do better than this!
I would have loved to see how she’d sing her save song but the judges were just so affected that as soon as Jessica Sanchez sang, Jennifer Lopez (J. Lo), with Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler hot on her heels, were up on the stage grabbing the mic from her and says, “Gimme that mic! This is crazy! Yes we’re using the SAVE! You’re not going home, you’re not going home. Go sit down. Go sit down. Go sit down!”. They clearly wanted America to realize the mistake they made, so I hope America listens. If Randy Jackson says that “This girl (Jessica Sanchez) is the one of the best singers in America… EVER! Are you kidding me? Everybody please vote for the best. It’s about finding the best. I mean, come on!”, would America listen?
I’m happy the show still made Jessica Sanchez sing her song in the end. It’s just about enough to remind everyone that she truly is a great artist.

Can’t believe she was voted out but glad she is back. She is pretty and have good voice I mean Jessica Sanchez.
for the truth she is very ugly. she has got no grace.plus she is screaming every performance.oh i see the judges call it let go. get over her she is not deserving by the way i am a fan of p2 and Elise
I so totally agree with you. Where on Earth was America’s head or should I say who were they texting or calling? It sure as heck couldn’t have been IDOL!! Jessica, IMHO could one day be another Whitney Houston. The girl is soooo talented. What a voice. WOW!! She blew me away!! Asian, black, white, or green she has the voice of an angel and I love to hear her sing. I know she will get some kind of recording contract no matter what but America better get on the ball!!
Actually, I’ve tried to read a lot of articles online and one of those that came up was that she was voted off because everybody knew she’d get a record deal anyway. They’d rather have someone like Elise win the title because of her age because she doesn’t have that luxury of time to launch her career. Oh well, I guess we have next week to look forward to. Either way, there are a lot of talented singers in that group, if not Jessica, I’m putting my vote on Joshua!
A lot of the female votes are for either Colton or Philip. But I still hope that Jessica will eventually win.
I too was shocked at the announcement. She’s the best singer in the competition and I really want her to win.

Joshua Ledet is the one with the underrated talent in my opinion. This guy has an unbelievable voice for one so young. He has a great personality and is so humble. I love how he helps the ladies in and out of their seats on elimination night. Such a gentlemen, and I hope fans start to appreciate him.
I am in Malaysia not sure of there is American Idol 2012 at Cable tv because that need to pay money to watch
I liked Colton and I still can not see why they voted him off. I do like Jessica but I also like Skylar and I Love Joshua and he does deserve to win.
